Laser & Cataract Surgery
Laser & Cataract Surgery Specialists

Our LASEK and Cataract surgeons have trained at the top medical institutions in the country, including Harvard, Johns Hopkins, Yale, University of Miami, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute and the University of Pennsylvania. In addition, our physicians have received many prestigious awards and have been chosen by their peers to be on the panels of Best Doctors in America, South Florida Superdoctors, and Castle Connelly’s Best Physicians in America. Our surgeons specialize in the most modern surgical techniques for laser vision correction, LASEK, and cataract surgery. They have been on staff at the world’s foremost eye hospital, the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute since 1985 and have taught the “doctors-in training” there how to perform eye surgery.

Comprehensive Eye Exams
Comprehensive Eye Exams

Our staff of board certified ophthalmologists and optometrists provide comprehensive eye exams for the entire family, ranging from children to seniors. Our physicians specialize in the diagnosis and treatment of general eye diseases and the fitting of many various types of contact lenses. These include daily, extended wear, gas permeable, toric astigmatism, dry eye and disposable contact lenses. In addition, we offer CRT contacts to help stop progression of myopia in young children and teenagers who are too young to have laser vision correction. During a comprehensive eye exam, the patient is checked for systemic diseases found elsewhere in the body such as hypertension, diabetes, hypercholesterolemia, thyroid disease, cancer, AIDS, arthritis, and other various illnesses. If these are discovered during the eye exam, the information is immediately sent electronically and the patient’s primary doctor is contacted to arrange for further testing needed by the patient based on the findings of the comprehensive eye exam.

Contact Lens Examination

Our staff consists of experts in fitting patients who need soft contact lenses, hard contact lenses, toric astigmatism contact lenses and specialty lenses including orthokeratology. Our physicians have received certification by Paragon to fit CRT contacts to help stop progression of myopia in young children and teenagers. In addition to routine soft contact lenses such as daily disposable contacts, weekly and monthly replacement contact lenses, our doctors fit many patients who were previously unable to see well with contact lenses. These patients often have advanced corneal diseases such as keratoconus. Specialty lenses like bitoric gas permeable lenses and scleral lenses are also available. The measurements taken prior to contact lens examinations are performed guided by machines with the latest technology including a laser auto refractor, an auto keratometer and corneal topography. Laservision Eye Care Center has a vast supply of diagnostic lenses in stock and readily available to dispense to patients for trials on the same day as the visit. During the extensive contact lens examination, the doctor determines the best material, curvature, diameter and strength of the contact lens to maximize comfort and provide excellent vision for the patient.
